The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) is the leading professional body for everyone who works in supply chain, logistics and transport.

It is a membership based organisation with over 30,000 members in over 30 countries.

 

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) International – formerly The Chartered Institute of Transport – was formed in 1919 and was granted its Royal Charter in 1926.

 

The Chartered Institute of Transport in the UK (CIT UK) was formed as the United Kingdom National Council and is the largest national council with over half the total worldwide membership of CILT. In 1999 the former Institute of Logistics and Transport (ILT) took over from CIT UK as the UK National Council.

CILT continues to hold the Royal Charter under the authority of the (UK) Privy Council. 

 

The CILT provide education and training at all levels and in all sectors. The CILT standards and membership status are recognised wherever you go and wherever you work. The CILT organisation influences and shapes government policy across many economies of the world.
